How To Identify The Different Personality Types
A very advantageous and valuable skill is being able to identify what personality type a person is, and then use that knowledge to relate with them the best way possible – they way they like to operate.
SharePoint Atlanta has created this simple overview to help you to identify the different personality types and their corresponding characteristics. We put an emphasis on teaching you the visual and verbal cues.

Overview Of The Four Personality Types
Thinker
Visual Hints: Less hand gestures and facial expressions – not likely to initiate contact.
Verbal Hints: Very even speaking tone, pace, volume, and speed.
Speaking Hints: Tends to talk about facts and figures. Not likely to go into great detail about feelings.
Other Clues: Their office and living area is probably very organized, or it may actually be a very well-organized mess. They prefer a more proper environment that’s more formal.
Examples of Thinkers: Albert Einstein, MLK, Mark Zuckerberg, Marie Curie.
Director
Visual Hints: Makes eye contact, appears self-confident, likes being in control.
Verbal Hints: Tends to talk loudly, quickly, and forcefully.
Speaking Hints: Likes giving instructions and not likely to listen as much as others. May have some argumentative tendencies.
Other Clues: Office and living area may have a lot of items that convey power and prestige.
Examples of Directors: Simon Cowell, Margaret Thatcher, Bill O’Reilly, Judge Judy.
Relator
Visual Hints: Will look away during conversations, gentle handshake, slower movements, patient.
Verbal Hints: Talks slowly and calmly, also may talk more softly and with a muted tone.
Speaking Hints: Prone to asking questions and then thoughtfully listening to answers. Less likely to give their thoughts/opinions right off the bat.
Other Clues: Office and living area may be filled with lots of personal items that have sentimental value. Area is probably warm, friendly, organized, and informal.
Examples of Relators: Dalai Lama, Michael Jackson, Gandhi, Steven Spielberg.
Socializer
Visual Hints: Lots of hand gestures and facial expressions – prone to initiating contact.
Verbal Hints: Loud, fast, spontaneous, and lots of voice inflection.
Speaking Hints: Talks about themselves a lot, and prone to tell lots of stories and jokes. Prefers informal settings – also open to give opinions more than others.
Other Clues: Office might be messy or unorganized, and probably filled with a lot of personal items and pictures. Also apt to do a lot of things spontaneously.
Examples of Socializers: Bill Clinton, Taylor Swift, Jim Carrey, Oprah Winfrey.
